The Shire's role and influence
The Shire must work within its legislative, financial and workforce resources. This means the Shire’s level of influence outside of its physical local government boundary and legislative provisions lessens its ability to control outcomes in certain areas.
Where the Shire has limited ability to achieve community goals and aspirations, the Shire can influence others to achieve change. The Shire can advocates with other stakeholders or establish partnerships with community groups, businesses and other levels of government.
