How do we make it happen?
The “how” is the activities and initiatives that will need to be undertaken in order to reach these goals and achieve the vision. These activities should be designed to address the most pressing needs and challenges in the community, and they should where possible to address multiple goals.

What you have told us so far:
- Establish a gym program designed to meet the needs of the over 55s. This would be a low-impact class that enables seniors to build and maintain fitness in a safe atmosphere. The best time for seniors is between 9am and 11am and on a Tuesday or Thursday.
- Establish a seniors aquatic exercise program designed for over 55s during the wet season. The best time for seniors is between 9am and 11am and on a Tuesday or Thursday.
- Transport is a Barrier to seniors being involved in activities. Once you can't drive you become trapped in you home until Juniper come and take you away. A bus service for seniors would help us say connected and a involved in the community. The Shire of Pingelly has a community bus for hire to the general public maybe SWEK could do the same.
- Older men have nothing to do. It would be great if there was a mens shed in town so older men can stay active and mentally well.
- Replace the missing trees around town. We live in a hot place and the Shire keep removing trees and not replacing them.
- Can the Shire set up a register of historic/culturally important trees and protect them. Many of the trees around town were planted by community groups to commemorate events and moments in time.
- Can we get an upgrade to the Playground. I take my grandchild to the park and there is less and less equipment there. I struggle to walk on the sand and keep up with the children. An all abilities playground would be fantastic for everyone.
- There is a really big pot hole in the service road near White Gum Park near the art gallery.
- The cost of using the pool and the gym is expensive for someone on the pension. Can the Shire look at lowering the fees and charges for senior entry? The Shire of Pingelly charges Senior/Pensioners (over 60 years) $2 to swim.
- The service at the airport was great. They helped me in my wheelchair get to the aircraft. I support the investment at the airport, it is great for a remote town.
- I like the Councillors plan to plant 1,000 trees over 4 years.
- Can community groups plant trees as part of events?
- Can community groups dedicate the trees to anything.
- Improve the access to the lookout and Kelly’s Knob with a bit more concrete and an extra handrail.
- The new planning heritage regulations will see more red tape from the Shire for activities our land such as putting a pool in, clearing trees, building a fence line, putting a bore in or digging a dam. This is going to deter investors and people moving to Kununrra. Can the Shire make sure the new are simpler and easy to follow.
- If i am working for one of the Aboriginal Corporations clearing land will i get in trouble if they don't have the correct permits under the new Heritage regulations?
- Can the Shire tell me if it is true the new planning laws will be a costly processes to carry out basic agricultural tasks, such as fencing? It looks like more bureaucracy and red tape from the planners.
- Shire should be more involved in coordinating youth services. we have multiple agencies operating with little or no coordination between them, and make zero difference on the ground.
- Improve Wyndham boat ramp, can you build a groin?
- Packsadle Road - re-instate road marking (centre line, or edge markings)
- Can the Shire speak to G'Day parks about the locals discount and season pass?
- Build a footpath/ shared path to the graveyard and entrance to Mirima from Weaber Plain Road on the Mirima side of the road.
- Build more housing including more GROH housing to attract & retain staff. Lobby for State to build and sort out the town planning to help people build.
- Develop a settlement at Cape Domet to support tourism and improve liveability for locals.
- Build a proper road to Cape Domet
- Build more housing for key workers such as childcare workers. One of the reasons business is struggling in this town is the lack of childcare. Staff leave town when they can't return to work because of childcare.
- Some good ideas shame its all being done for the wrong reasons
- How can any thing in Kununurra be considered sustainable
- Plant more trees and protect the ones we already have
- Can the Shire manage the trees (like an Arborist to manage, maintain and care for the trees) instead of cutting them down?
- Can the Shire create a lookout over the Ord (ORIA) stage 2 like the five rivers lookout in Wyndham?
